GLOBAL LEADERS IN ACUTE CARE AND INTERNATIONAL EMERGNECY RESPONSE
5-Day Glacier Ski Tour – Medical Education Program

15–19 October 2025 | $5750 AUD | For experienced skiers and splitboarders only

Few places in the world let you ski glaciers with sweeping views over the ocean. Our 5-Day Glacier Ski Tour takes you deep into the Southern Alps’ Main Divide, where 3000 m peaks rise above icefalls and glaciers spill towards the Tasman Sea. Each day blends exceptional ski touring with targeted medical education for acute care professionals.

Based at a private high-mountain hut accessed by helicopter, you’ll enjoy immediate access to world-class alpine terrain, with all avalanche and glacier travel gear supplied. The program is designed for experienced backcountry skiers and splitboarders, comfortable on variable snow and in exposed mountain environments.

Educational Program

  • 3 hours/day: Multimodal CME sessions (short talks, case discussions, and scenario-based problem-solving)

  • 1 hour/day: Structured group discussion and review

  • Topics include trauma in remote settings, hypothermia and frostbite, avalanche rescue medicine, decision-making under uncertainty, and leadership in high-risk environments.

Inclusions

  • Helicopter transfers to/from the hut

  • Mountain guide and medical faculty

  • All group safety and glacier travel equipment

  • Accommodation in hut at 1750 m

  • All meals during the tour

  • Evening dinner in Wanaka on the final day

  • 20 hours CME

  • Small group format for maximum engagement
